The sexual exploitation of children in Albania – this is what we know about the issue. Albania ranked 32nd out of 60 countries scored in the Out of the Shadows. The ranking is explained by evidence of a worrying cultural acceptance of some forms of violence against children, prejudices against Roma people, restrictive gender norms, a significant lack of funding for civil society organisations (CSOs) and a lack of concrete government action on prevention strategies and plans.
