Peru ranked 12th out of 60 countries scored in the Out of the Shadows Index on the country’s response to child sexual exploitation and abuse. This ranking can be explained by its extremely robust legal and policy framework for addressing sexual exploitation of children. Nonetheless, action to prevent and respond to the sexual exploitation of children in Peru can still be improved.
